In a time where people are becoming more interested in where our food comes from, many of the Stone & Wood team and our local community are lucky enough to live smack-bang in the middle of a food bowl: the Northern Rivers of NSW.
Part of the beverage industry, we’re proud to be a member of our local food group Northern Rivers Food, which connects growers, farmers and food industry folk in the region through regular events, workshops and networking opportunities.
To mark this special time in the food growing calendar, Northern Rivers Food are fast preparing for the Northern Rivers Food Harvest Festival, a showcase of the region’s bounty and the people who bring it to life: everyone from the growers, chefs and manufacturers, to the brewers and distillers, to the nutritionists and marketers.
As a sponsor of Harvest Festival, we’re excited to see how the event will encourage collaboration between foodies and inspire people to continue strengthening the local food industry for generations to come – whether that’s shopping local or jumping into food production themselves.
Alongside cheese-making workshops, cooking classes and luncheons, we’d love to catch people at the awesome foodie events that we’re taking part in:
- Farms & Foodies Bus Tour – Friday 26 April, 9am – 4:30pm
- Harvest Autumn Fair – Saturday 27 April, 10am – 4pm
- Breweries & Distilleries Bus Tour – Sunday 28 April, 11am – 4:30pm
While Stone & Wood was inspired by the idea of the village brewery, we believe community events like Harvest Festival are an essential part of strengthening local food economies and acknowledging the land and people that feed our community.
