Many of our Stone & Wood community will know about Woodford Folk Festival, the vibrant music and culture event held annually in the Sunshine Coast hinterland over New Years Eve.
Perhaps less people are familiar with its mid-year sister event, The Planting Festival – a three-day festival dedicated to regenerating the site – bought by the Woodfordia organisation in 1994 – for the Woodford Folk Festival in eight months’ time. If you don’t have plans, the festival runs from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 May – tickets available here.
Besides the cool cultural events, music and workshops available over the weekend, The Planting Festival is about ensuring the site, part of Jinibara Country, remains healthy, forested parklands that the community and future generations can enjoy. This is particularly important given this site was formerly a barren dairy farm; it now hosts over 120,000 subtropical rainforest trees, luscious foliage and wildlife.
With all this regeneration and connection going on, we’re excited to have partnered The Planting Festival this year, where we’ll be pouring Pacific Ale, Cloud Catcher and Green Coast. Our values around community and treading lightly on the Earth are shared with The Planting Festival and so we look forward to sharing a few cold ones with like-minded festival-goers over the weekend!
