One of our favourite dates on the calendar is the Byron Bay Surf Festival happening February 22 – 25.
We love supporting the festival because it brings together like minded people who share a love and respect for the ocean, as well as the community. That resonates with our team and for us as the local, independent brewery. It contributes culturally to the area, and we’re proud to be a part of it.
The lifestyle of this area inspires our philosophies of taking it slow and keeping it simple. To be a part of this festival and contribute to supporting the surf culture of this area and the good vibes of the weekend, makes us stoked.
The line up – where to come say hi and enjoy a beer!
Come and enjoy a beer with us throughout the weekend at The Beach Hotel where we will be pouring our beers, enjoying the epic line up of music and have Clyde set up in the beer garden.
We will be brewing an exclusive pilot batch for this year’s festival which will be able to be enjoyed when we tap it each day at the Stone & Wood bar in The Beach Hotel beer garden for the Happy Hour from 5pm. We will only have enough for 2 keg’s each day so make sure you get there to enjoy it over the festival!
Still thirsty? Check the programme of events where we will be supporting with cold Stone & Woods including Thursday’s RVCA Gallery ANP art show 5pm – 7pm, Friday’s Surf Art Show at Loan Goat Gallery 5.30pm – 7pm, Saturday afternoon’s Deus Sessions at Deus and Saturday evening’s Campbell Brother’s Surf Happenings at the Onboard Store.
Our beers will be being served at our long-time friends the Byron Community Centre where they will kick off the festival with Thursday’s Surf Legends Lounge hosted by Surfing World Magazine's Vaughan Blakey. Check the BBSF programme to see the list of entertainment held here over the festival.
Make sure you don’t miss Friday evenings Sunset Cinema that kicks off at 6:30pm with our own feature short-film by Stone & Wood that profiles two salty legends from Byron Bay.
Saturday morning come and help us and our mates Clean Coast Collective clean up the beach. Kick off at 8am meeting under the bell tent at Apex Park.
We will also be at Saturday’s Surf Art Markets, where we’ll be holding an exhibition of works by local lady slider Anrielle Hunt and have some merch on sale with every T-Shirt purchase receiving a schooner to redeem at The Beach Hotel. At 12pm at the Surf Art Markets Q&A sessions hear from Stone & Wood Brewery’s Sustainability manager; James Perrin as he chats about Sustainable business.
Lastly, come visit us at the home of Stone & Wood, our brewery located in the Byron Industrial estate where you can sit back enjoy a cold one or book for a tour and tasting paddle and celebrate what we are all about – appreciating a ‘less is more’ approach to living, that for us, is the way it should be.
Wherever you end up, make sure you enjoy what this festival is all about.. the community coming together and hanging out, making new friends and make sure you enjoy sharing a few waves as well.
